Bellevue College Now Offering Fashion Design, Marketing and Merchandising Classes

Whether you’re a designer looking to market your existing collections or an aspiring designer, these classes can kick-start your business. Classes are open to everyone and you do not need to be a Bellevue College student to attend.

MKTG 277: Fashion Marketing & Merchandising
Learn to become a fashion professional who explores fashion trends, helps retailers develop fashion sales and marketing programs. While not necessarily designing clothing, you could become a buyer, a visual merchandiser, a retail manager, or a marketer overseeing branding and advertising. Successful professionals in the field usually have a blend of business skills, design and textiles knowledge and the ability to identify consumer behavior and buying patterns. This could also be a great class for designers who want to learn how to market their own collections.

MKTG 278: Fashion Design
Gain an introduction to fashion careers, sparking creativity with a study in the fashion design process. Learn to build a collection, understand textiles and manufacturing, local designer sewing and manufacturing resources, how to evaluate competition, and how to execute your vision. The program is structured to challenge and inspire students by incorporating artistic and technical elements into a realistic approach for the fashion design industry. Guests from the industry will bring the content to life with real world examples.
